Life and Immortality

Paul was appointed to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles to bring life and immortality to light through the gospel. 2 Tim. 1:10-11.

This is the most glorious ministry in which anyone can have a part. Jesus said, “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63. A living faith in every word of life results in a fullness of spirit and life. We have, therefore, an exceedingly glorious ministry through the gospel, and an immortal life in glory emerges in light. This is a glory that can bear the judgment of the light. The direct result of this immortal glory is an immortal power of life for this glorious ministry.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” John 6:35. If we receive our daily nourishment from this bread of life, we will also have a share in life—an abundance of life. It will overflow in life and service for the others. Jesus says in John 7:38, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” This ministry is not a dry ministry of the letter, but it is like fresh and living water. We cannot live without water, whether it be physically or spiritually.

The ministry of the old covenant was a ministry of condemnation and of the letter, but the ministry of the new covenant is a ministry of the Spirit and of glory. If we look into the glory of the Word as in a mirror, we will all be transformed into the same image from glory to glory. This knowledge of God in the face of Jesus Christ is to shine from us. See 2 Corinthians 3 and 4.

Every word of God must be proclaimed in the Holy Spirit, so that we can be filled with life, power, and glory.
