Trust
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.” Ps. 125:1.
There is therefore immense and tremendous strength in depending on and blindly trusting in God. There is quite a bit written about this in the Scriptures, and it is in complete harmony with believing unreservedly and firmly. In one sense, this verse states it even a little bit stronger.
This trust and faith is also the same as resting in God. Trust makes, so to speak, all unrest in our inner being vanish automatically—all fear and all anxiety, all thoughts of how things will turn out in different areas and with different people. It will turn out as God wants it to, and He alone knows what serves everyone and everything for the best.
All unrest inwardly and outwardly is rooted in sin. And all sin is overcome by faith and blind trust in God who loves us so dearly, and who has all power in heaven and on earth and holds all the strings in His almighty hands!
God’s orders—standing and always current—are: “Let all the earth keep silence before Him.” Hab. 2:20. “Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord . . . !” Zech. 2:13. We cause only damage with all our unrest, all our anxieties, and all our fears! It makes things worse instead of better. It is disobedience to His command!
