Christ Lives in Me
These are truly astounding words! They are in agreement with John 14:20; John 15:4-5; 2 Corinthians 13:5; John 17:23; Romans 8:1, and 1 John 2:6.
Not only that, but according to John 17:23 both the Father and the Son (as well as the Holy Spirit—John 14:17) live in true disciples.
The condition for something so indescribably glorious and exalted must be (as is only reasonable) that we have been crucified with Christ by faith so that it is no longer we who live. Only then is the Word applicable that only a new creation avails anything (Gal. 6:15), and that only faith working through love avails anything. Gal. 5:6. Nothing else is acknowledged!
Everything else will at best be only human patchwork; something inferior.
It is written, “Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” This means: if anyone is in Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17. This pertains to everything without our area of consciousness!
This is precisely why this is the critical question! The Word cannot be invalidated! We cannot correct it. However, the Word itself is able to correct us when we bow before it, believing and loving it with all of our heart!
We can become what we are not! And we can come to where we are not yet! God and the Lamb be highly praised! Exalted praise belongs to Him who is able to bring forth so unspeakably much in us poor wretches—that we can be presented as the Lamb’s wife in the end! This is almost beyond belief! Nevertheless, it is true because the Word cannot be invalidated.
