The Word of God
The Word of God is that eternal and imperishable gold. Everything else is called wood, hay, and stubble. Each word is gold—a message from heaven.
All of the Scriptures are inspired by God, and they are the eternal source of all glory. God’s glory radiated from Jesus because He was obedient to the Word of God; and because the apostles were also obedient, that same glory of the Word radiated from them. The same thing happens in our days by obedience to the same Word.
God’s words are pure; they are like gold that has been purified seven times; they are utterly pure. They are entrusted and revealed to pure hearts. Such a heart is a golden vessel, ready to do every good work.
God’s Word embodies all comfort, all help, and everything else we need for life and godliness. All those who look into the glory of the Word with unveiled face are transformed into the glory of the Word, which will then radiate more and more clearly from one’s life in word and deed. God’s hidden wisdom produces an inner rest, joy, and thankfulness in all of life’s situations.
Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Jesus lived by these words. His food was to do the will of His heavenly Father. The fullness of God’s wisdom and glory came to dwell in Jesus because He lived by the Word.
The natural food we eat becomes part of us, and by eating spiritual food we become spiritual people who grow up into Christ as the head, to the maturity of manhood, to wisdom, and power.
The Word embodies everything that is noble and good. We can drink of the Spirit of the Word, which becomes a well of life in us, flowing out unto eternal life. It is such a satisfying source of joy that we never again thirst for anything else.
By a living faith in the Word of God we have come to an eternal, holy, exalted, and glorious foundation that cannot be moved.
