A Strong and Good Influence
If you want to be under a strong and good influence, then immerse yourself in 2 Peter 1:5-15! The overall effect and the result of these verses can be indescribably great and glorious!
Peter himself states powerfully how unusually diligent, energetic, zealous, and persevering he was in his ministry, his preaching, and in tirelessly exhorting the church concerning the main point: namely, to partake of all the virtues of Christ and constantly increase in them!
He was so diligent in doing this that he hoped that all his sincere exhortations would literally ring in the saints’ ears after his departure!
We also see this with all clarity in his first letter: the fact that it was on his heart to preach all the virtues of Christ. “That you may proclaim the praises [virtues] of Him who called you . . . .” 1 Pet. 2:9.
Therefore: first of all, partake of them abundantly, as quickly as possible, and apply all diligence in doing it so that you can start as quickly as possible with proclaiming each single virtue, doing it so enthusiastically that it can have the greatest possible effect on those few who hunger and thirst for such a life in the steps of Jesus Christ!
The motto is: Be as diligent as possible in this very thing!
