The Creator, the Creation, Created Things, and a New Creation!
When God created everything, it happened quite simply by His command, “Let there be!” different things, and immediately they came into existence. He did everything that pleased Him according to His omnipotence.
“For You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” Rev. 4:11.
To our Father in heaven, the Creator, belongs all praise and adoration and honor and worship (admiration). “Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?” Heb. 12:9. Not being obedient to Him in everything is probably the most unreasonable and meaningless thing in existence!!!
Instead of obeying Him, serving, praising, and worshiping Him, most people do as it is written in Romans 1:25: “Who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”
The vast majority of believers have also done this to a greater or lesser extent. They admire (worship), so to speak all kinds of created things instead of admiring or worshiping God and consequently obeying Him and bowing in the dust before Him and His creative Word! Read (for example) Isaiah 2:7-22 and 3:16-24.
Every person can understand the meaning of these words if he is interested in it. It is meaningless to admire created things. None of them would have existed if the Almighty Creator had not created them. “You shall worship [admire] the Lord your God . . . .” Matt. 4:10.
Most admiration of created things is the result of thoughtlessness. Yet it is wrong in any case! There is also very little true worship of God and the Creator! May there be much, much more conscious worship of God!
The amazing fact concerning the creation is that God needed to say just three words: “Let there be!” and it was there immediately!
Now, in the dispensation of the new covenant, God is in the process of creating something new in our inner man. However, the majority of believers are certainly not aware of this. They don’t believe in it and therefore it is foreign to them.
When we believe it, He creates just as He did in the beginning with His “Let there be,” and the result will be according to our faith. The word, “According to your faith it will be done to you,” is then fulfilled.
The only thing that avails anything, as Paul writes in Galatians 6:14, is “only a new creation.” And in 2 Corinthians 5:17 it is written very decidedly, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation . . . .” Then we walk in the newness of life. Rom. 6:4.
And in Ephesians 2:10, it says that we are “created in Christ Jesus for good works.” “Since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him . . . .” Col. 3:9-10. Here it says that something was created first, and then something more is being created. In other words, there is a continuing new-creation as from the beginning. When this does not happen in a person’s life, which is common, it is absolutely certain that the person has still not become a new creation in Christ Jesus.
You cannot keep the old man with his works and at the same time put on a new man. It is either the one or the other, not both of them together!
