“You Judge According to the Flesh, I Judge No One.”

This was the mind of our Lord and Master! He judged no one according to the flesh but He let the true light shine, with the result that this true light judged their lives. All those who are not receptive to this light get angry, even furious. See verse 59. It is also written, “And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world . . . .” John 3:19. Jesus’ few followers act in just the same way as Jesus did in the days of His flesh. They faithfully let God’s light— God’s Word—shine. Those who are of the truth receive the light with joy and thankfulness, judging themselves, and are therefore not condemned. 1 Cor. 11:31. Those who are not of the truth judge according to the flesh, at the same time complaining that people are judging them. However, the truth is that it is the true light of God’s Word that judges them. Almost everyone judges according to the flesh, unfortunately. This means that their judgment is based on what they think and assume and feel, as if all that madness and foolishness were the true light. What a deception! What darkness!

Without realizing it, they reject God’s Word, which is the true light according to which we will be judged with perfect righteousness.

This is an especially important truth! Fill your heart and mind with it!
