Reproaches
A reproach is the opposite of a blessing. In other words, it is a curse! “Bless and do not curse.” Rom. 12:14. Our calling is to bless. God reserves the other for Himself, just as with vengeance! “Do not avenge yourselves . . . ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.’” V. 19. Likewise with anger. “God is angry with the wicked every day.” Ps. 7:11. However, for us to be angry is totally reprehensible. It is a work of the flesh; it is manifest sin.
It is just the same when it concerns judging and criticizing others instead of ourselves. It is utterly and completely of the evil! It says quite simply, “Judge not!” “For in whatever you judge another, you condemn yourself . . . .” Rom. 2:1.
Reproaching others is one of the most common things on earth in daily life—also among believers! Alas, Alas, Alas!!!! It is a national illness, a deadly plague!!! And worst of all, people defend it, thinking that it is fully justified to the point of almost getting a bad conscience by stopping with it. Then, the light in them is total darkness!
The point is that it doesn’t help anything; on the contrary! It is a fact that people are addicted to this evil, fateful habit; they cannot cease from it. Then they are enslaved by sin! If a person cannot acknowledge that it is from the evil, he cannot be finished with it either!
Reproach corresponds to accusation. All accusations are from Satan. It also corresponds to being discontented and unthankful! Wake up in earnest! And do not sin anymore! 1 Cor. 15:34.
