Through Faith and Patience Abraham Obtained the Promise

Hebrews 6:11-15

We also obtain what was promised through faith and patience! In this respect, God’s will for us is immovably firm! It will succeed! It will be accomplished! But only through faith (full assurance) and patience. See also Jas. 1:4.

Then this question arises: What has He promised us in the new covenant? The first, true apostles stated it in detail in many different places and in many different ways.

It is therefore vital to read diligently and meditatively, taking everything to heart in order to believe it, and seek it with all patience and an ardent zeal so that, like Abraham, we can achieve all of it during our relatively short lifetime. The matter is very serious, because our lifetime is very limited; not only that, we also can die at any time!

What can we achieve? Complete victory, more than victory, always victory over all conscious sin! Growing up into Him who is the head, Christ, in all things; becoming a perfect man in Christ; achieving the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; finishing our race; being crowned with the crown of life; being conformed to Christ; being transformed in our inner man; achieving perfection in our work of ministry; always requiting evil with good; suffering injustice and loss with joy; joyfully accepting the plundering of your goods; never being bitter toward your wife or others, even if they are ever so unreasonable and so-called impossible; being submissive to your husband if he, in your eyes, is ever so stupid; never contradicting your master or superior, except in such cases when he requires you to sin, then you must protest strongly, but never otherwise; never being unthankful or dissatisfied; always being glad; always willing to serve, showing goodwill, being peaceable, good, and merciful; always being just and true; being in full control of your tongue; being in complete rest in God under all possible circumstances; not being afraid of anything at all other than displeasing God; loving all people without exception; being entirely free from jealousy, suspicion, and anxiety; completely put off all wrath and anger putting a complete stop to criticizing and judging others, in addition to being hard and irreconcilable; achieving complete faith in God’s guidance in everything, in great and small things; being content when concerning all earthly things; becoming king, co-regent, and the bride of Jesus Christ; being presented to Him blameless and irreproachable, without spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, in peace and joy, along with many other things.
