“But David Strengthened Himself in the Lord His God.”

“But David Strengthened Himself in the Lord His God.”

This is how this scripture is translated in several Bible translations. This is very significant! Everyone ought to do that. David was in particularly dire circumstances at that point in time. However, instead of losing courage and hanging his head, as so many people do in such circumstances, he strengthened himself in the Lord his God. He didn’t sit there, waiting for someone to come and strengthen and comfort and encourage him. Imagine—he did that himself!!! This is a shining example for all men and women of God throughout all the ensuing years!

Let us all do the same thing in the same way! For just as you can strengthen, comfort, and encourage others, why not do the same thing for yourself?
