Life-Fellowship

Life-Fellowship

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another . . . .” 1 John 1:7. Therefore it is our walk that produces real fellowship; in other words, it is our life.

This corresponds exactly with the almost unbelievable words in John 17:21: “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You . . . .” Also, in this scripture the word “as” is used. This is almost unbelievable, and yet it is true! This perfect oneness is fellowship in life, a fellowship that arose by walking in God’s true light in all areas, or in other words, by overcoming all conscious sin. Put into different words: that we always speak the truth, always do righteousness, always love each other, are always peaceable, are always good, always meek, always humble, always patient and longsuffering, are always in subjection to those to whom the Bible clearly instructs us always to submit, and are always in agreement, to God’s glory and praise! Just as it is written (for example) in 1 Corinthians 1:10: “That you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”

Just imagine that this is being fulfilled among us—the very thing that almost all believers in the whole world are sure is impossible; the thing that Jesus prayed to the Father about, is being fulfilled among us—even if it is not known in this world that is teeming with divisions and partisanship wherever you look!

More and more people are experiencing this godly oneness right in front of the entire world’s—and the entire religious world’s—incessant disunity, strife, and unrest!

Jesus’ High-Priestly prayer that is so full of meaning is being fulfilled! Hallelujah!

Faith in this is very hard to find, as Jesus Himself said. Yet it is found!

The Lord be highly praised!
