Love Bears All Things

1 Corinthians 13:7

This means that everyone who possesses love as a firmly indwelling power bears all kinds of things from everyone.

What a tremendously good and creative quality! Most people are not even aware of the fact that it is even possible to live like this while they are in this evil world. And this is precisely why they nearly always are defeated as soon as they are faced with the natural man’s insufferably disgusting characteristics.

Either / or: either love exercises divine power and full control in your life, or you will soon discover one unbearable thing after another and the one worse than the other. People usually discover something that is unbearable in everyone.

The cause of it can be said to be that they expect, demand, and require so much from others—how others should be and conduct themselves in every respect. And then they are so disappointed, first over one thing and then over something else.

The person who is filled with divine love acts in exactly the opposite way. He expects and demands nothing at all from anyone. His great delight is in helping and serving and giving. He also has very much to give at all times. He greatly delights in helping everyone to become better than they are.

And as far as that goes (and this is the exceptionally marvelous thing!) the individual state of the various ones is inconsequential, for the task is always the same: namely, to provide something, in the hope that it can get better with that individual than it was previously.

This is the very thing that love likes so well and greatly enjoys doing!!! In this way the unbearable and unpleasant things cease! Just imagine that!
