Change Your Conduct So You Can Live!

Ezekiel 33:11 (French Translation)

In other words, change your way of reacting to everything you encounter, including that which happens to you within and outside the church.

A tremendously powerful and effective godly truth is this: How we react to what we encounter is far more important than what we encounter!

By nature, we are entirely permeated by a sinful, completely wrong, and undeniably foolish way of reacting to all kinds of things!!! It is no wonder that there is so much evil and horror and unhappiness in this evil world.

The truth is that people’s unhappiness and problems are always their own fault precisely because they react in the wrong way.

The evil and unrighteous and unpleasant things we encounter would be like a trifle for us if only we reacted in the best way, that is, conducted ourselves in a godly manner. And this is exactly what we are called to. This is absolutely possible. The Lord be highly praised!

For example, being cheated out of money is just like being at a banquet if only we are perfectly free from it, so that we can be just as happy and even more than happy, not feeling sorry for ourselves, but instead feeling sorry for the poor wretch who swindled us! Poor fellow! Not poor me, for I live just as long and just as well by God’s grace. It is very easy to prove this fact.

When you are unable to bear the other person’s evil, the simple reason is that you are also evil to some degree.

For example, if a brother asks a sister in the Lord to marry him and he gets a “No” for an answer, it is not that sad and heavy to bear if he reacts in a good way so that he (for example) thinks like this: “God is good who spared me from getting married to a woman who didn’t care for me. Imagine how badly it could have turned out if she had said ‘Yes’ just to get a husband? God surely has something more fitting for me in one way or another. His guidance is perfect!”

We can say with divine certainty that everything depends on how we react or how we conduct ourselves!!!

Always react correctly and in a good way, and then you will always be a happy person regardless of how all the others react.

Your always blessed brother in the Lord—
