1 Thessalonians, Chapter 2

This chapter ought to be read—put a book mark there—by all of God’s fellow workers and servants of the Lord, including all leaders of assemblies who perform their ministry effectively as well as those whose ministry is less praiseworthy!!!

You can hardly be influenced in a better way! And why not grant ourselves the very best, that which is the most effective!!!

If you desire to be lowlier in your own eyes and thereby receive more grace in your ministry, then read this chapter carefully! If you desire to follow a glorious example zealously, then read diligently and thoughtfully in this very chapter!

What a mindset! What sacrifice! What fatherly love and gentleness and sincere care for each individual! What an appreciation of the saints, of each saint individually! What an unselfish, arduous life! A heartfelt, sincere thanks to Paul that he used his great boldness to exhort us to be his followers. It is obvious that he believed that it was possible for us as well! This is completely different than the preaching that is the result of apostasy, uncleanness, and guile. V. 3. The Lord be greatly praised for His true Word!

2 Thessalonians 1:11

The French translation reads, “That our God by His power would fulfill all the benevolent plans or intention of His goodness.”

What a wonderful expression for our high and glorious heavenly calling!!!

It is indescribable how much He loves His true disciples and followers, His own bride!

The full meaning of what is meant by the content of all the benevolent plans of His goodness for us cannot be put into words.

Nevertheless, the Scriptures are full of various expressions concerning this subject, and it is as Isaiah predicted: “Who has believed our report?”

Unfortunately, most “believers” are so unbelieving that they are like the blind and the deaf. And since the work occurs by faith, they exclude themselves from partaking of it, often becoming bitter opponents of all God’s benevolent plans of goodness! Nevertheless, blessed is every one who believes it, for it will be accomplished!!! Hallelujah!

God’s plan for us is to become like our Bridegroom in mind and being and in all His virtues, unchangeably good through and through.
