Indecisive, Uncertain, and Wavering
What is the real reason for a person to be like this? The reason is that people have many interests instead of having just one interest. Jesus’ teaching is: “One thing is needed.”
People have to consider several things—this and that and him and her—instead of considering just this one thing: pleasing God! Because they have to choose between several things just about every time, it is generally difficult for them to make a quick decision. Consequently, they are and remain more or less indecisive as long as they have to take several things into account.
On the other hand, you are always quick to make a decision when you have to take only one thing into account. As a result, you get so much more of God’s will done.
Away with all other considerations! Away with all minor considerations!
“Purify your hearts, you indecisive men,” it says in the French Bible translation. Jas. 4:8.
The aim must always be to be resolute and decisive in always doing God’s will immediately, by eradicating all other considerations through partaking of the death of Christ.
