A Soulish Disposition
A person’s soul is in a good mood when he is in good health, when he has good food, when the weather is pleasant, when he has a good income, when he can push his will through, when he is respected by people, etc. Then he feels good and can consequently be lovable and pleasant and obliging.
However, in all this there is nothing lasting, no eternal values. These things are almost just some radiant, beautiful soap bubbles. And when the good days are over, it is the old story again. It is just a momentary illusion.
A Demonic Disposition
In this case the person is in the mood for all kinds of sin and madness. People like this are in this frame of mind especially when several sinners get together. Unity makes strong. They urge each other on to sin. The one is going to be bolder than the next one and more daring than the next one. This can become obvious in all kinds of sinful ways.
Long live the spiritual disposition in which we are driven by the Holy Spirit and by a desire for that which is noble and good, so that what is good and beneficial is done continuously, easily, and with great joy and gladness!
Glory to God for His radical salvation that is available to every individual!
