Fifty Years of Skjulte Skatter

It has not been given to anyone to summarize the result or the significance of Skjulte Skatter during its fifty years of publication; nevertheless, it has been of great significance for truth-seeking souls.

What we write and do in order to awaken people to a deeper fear of God in their lives must be inspired by God, and Skjulte Skatter has been such an awakener to salvation from sin and self-life. Skjulte Skatter has opened the eyes of many who are deeply thankful for the paper and its good effects.

The significance of people who, just like the prophets in the old covenant, are able to impart God’s will and counsel to their fellow men is of immeasurably great.

Jesus spoke to His disciples and commanded them to go out and make disciples of all the nations. Matt. 28:18-20. It is possible to reach many people by means of a publication; brothers Aksel and Johan O. Smith realized this and began to publish the paper. God has blessed the work that Skjulte Skatter has accomplished during these fifty years and it has contributed to the development of a large flock of true disciples, who have learned to keep what Jesus has commanded.

All this work arouses opposition, which has resulted in these truths becoming even clearer.

We may have noticed that a publications worth often sinks when there is a change in editors. But this does not happen when the person who takes over in the fear of God and spiritual wholeheartedness is firmly rooted in his devotion to God. Then, everything is held up. We have seen this with Skjulte Skater. We are all comforted as the publication begins its next fifty years.
