Throughout Fifty Years

Skjulte Skatter1 has now been published for fifty years. What grace! What a blessing! What a work and the subsequent effects of that work! There is unspeakably much that can be said about that.

We shall with these lines say something about it with joy and thankfulness!

The course has been steady and unchangeable, uninfluenced by the spirit of the times, opposition, and the majority. Glory to God! No turning aside or deviation in any way whatsoever. That is not more than it ought to be, yet it is unspeakably great!

Its content has not been religious entertainment, but rather the unalterable light of life, life’s truths, nourishment for a spiritual life, laws of the Spirit of life that set us free from the laws of sin and death.

In addition, the extremely valuable content has always been words of faith—living faith in victory over sin in all of life’s areas, on all fronts.

When the preaching is the word of Christ, faith comes through the preaching. We have experienced this to a large degree. God be praised! The result has been life and true, genuine brotherhood, true brotherly love, true fellowship—fellowship in the Spirit instead of in denominations.

The result has been true followers instead of all kinds of adherents, living members of the body of Christ instead of members in a register, constant revival that keeps spreading rather than degenerating into forms and customs.

In this way, true fellow workers of God and true servants of the Word who are educated in the school of life, arise on the way of life in the midst of the church. What a work this is! From a lowly beginning, there has been a constant increase, in spite of bitter opposition that proved futile. Life in God is invincible. Hallelujah!

The things that are great in the eyes of men are an abomination in the eyes of God. These words of Jesus have also been followed faithfully throughout these years so that the same things have also been an abomination in our eyes, with the result that no form of megalomania has been able to sneak in among us. The Lord be greatly praised!

By way of contrast, the life of Christ and the virtues of Christ are highly regarded and honored among us. Glory to God and to the Lamb!

Oneness is exceptionally great among us, precisely because it is not upheld by human organization but by a living organism, to God’s glory and praise!
