Understand What the Will of the Lord Is
The Lord knows the way of salvation and what is for everyone’s benefit; He has our best in mind. Therefore it is vital to understand the Lord’s will in all things and then begin to do it.
Man’s will is his life. When we do the Lord’s will, it is God who lives in us, and at the same time we are dying and are being saved according to the promise. Sin is inherent in man’s will. Jesus has promised to set everyone completely free from committing sin, that is, everyone who is zealous and repents. Revelation 2:7, 11, 26, 3:5, 12, 21; James 1:2, 12 and many other scriptures.
When people who say they are believers do not understand this, it begs the question, “Where is your faith?”
The Lord’s will is to lead those who believe to a victorious life. Satan has no authority over them; however, He attempts in every possible way, to get people to sin so that he can have a certain “right” to them.
This is also how a person, who, through Jesus Christ, has advanced to an overcoming life, and has freed himself from the “right” that Satan had over him. As Jesus says, “For the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.” John 14:30.
“Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” Rev. 20:6. They are saved from all of Satan’s tyranny and power.
We ought to be aware of the fact that our common adversary makes a great effort, to the very last, to keep a least a small right of possession in each single one. Therefore we must meet with a decided and unambiguous answer from God’s Word, just as Jesus did when He was tempted.
When we do not understand what God’s will is, we must ask: “Do we want to understand it?” If we do not want to understand God’s will, we cannot avail ourselves of the opportunity to partake of full salvation. Then we are in darkness and do not know what we are doing.
Jesus went about proclaiming the gospel of God’s kingdom and healing the sick and the weak among the people. The gospel of God’s kingdom (which is to be within us) is usually not preached in these days; people do not want to hear it. At the same time, they want to hear the gospel about being healed from sickness and about signs and wonders and the forgiveness of sins.
Satan has carried on with signs and wonders throughout the ages, even from the time when Moses was to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. He also looks for people today who are deceived and whom he can get to do his bidding. Most people shy away from wizards and necromancers and those who are in Satan’s service, but when Satan and his servants transform themselves into angels of light and apostles of Christ, people are deceived; this is a large area of activity for him on earth, in these days.
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his minsters also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” 2 Cor. 11:13-15.
Now in the end times we experience the “working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” 2 Thess. 2:9-10.
In Matthew 7:22-23 we see some who had spoken and performed signs and wonders in Jesus’ name. But Jesus says, “Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” [Emphasis added]. They had not sought God’s will; they were interested in other things. Jesus did not know them; He had never known them, for the Scriptures say, “The Lord knows those who are His.” 2 Tim. 2:19. “I am the good shepherd, and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.” John 10:14.
It is important to understand what God’s will is and, by doing God’s will, to enter into the death of Christ. Then you know God, and Christ as your Shepherd.
Seek help and guidance where godly fear rules. Healings happen constantly in the church of the living God where the word of the cross is proclaimed with power—but they happen quietly.
