Behold, He Whom You Are Waiting For Is Coming
“But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.” Mal. 3:2-3.
We know that Jesus will come one day (this is what this scripture speaks about) in order to meet His bride in the clouds. But He also comes to each one individually who will be part of His bride, now, while they live here on earth. They see Him when He lets His light shine into their hearts, and then, as long as it is the time of grace and everything can be put into order, it is like a judgment day for salvation for each individual. “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Phil. 2:13.
“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God . . . .” 1 Pet. 4:17. “Whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.” Heb. 3:6.
“But judgment will return to righteousness . . . .” Ps. 94:15. “‘Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: Your brethren who hated you, who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, “Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy.” But they shall be ashamed.’” Isa. 66:5.
God can work with those who tremble at His word. The others mock and cannot comprehend the Lord’s course of action, thinking that it is unreasonable.
He is like the refiner’s fire. And what does the fire do? It gets the metal flowing, and if it is difficult, the refiner increases the heat even more. As the metal melts, impurities float to the top and the refiner skims them off. Apparently gold has to be refined seven times before it is completely pure.
“He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver . . . .” Mal. 3:3.
“Every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bar more fruit.” John 15:2. When the believer experiences fiery trials, it is vital for him to be quiet in God’s hand, to listen to what the Refiner has to say, and to let Him finish His work. The person who is purified is placed in the form of doctrine, so his appearance will become as the Master has determined.
Then the question arises: “Who can endure this and can stand when He appears?” The answer is: He who believes; he who believes in the Refiner’s word concerning eternal life and glory, and concerning divine nature, and about victory over everything that is not pleasing to God.
Through faith we receive the Spirit, and through the Spirit we receive love, and with these treasures in life, all problems are solved and everything is overcome.
