“Satisfied With Grace, and Full of the Blessing of the Lord.”

Deuteronomy 33:23

This was said in the blessing with which Moses blessed Naphtali. We must certainly acknowledge that this was a wonderful ointment to be poured on his head. We can safely state that all the blessings in this chapter with which the tribes were blessed are the same blessings that are over us in Christ Jesus, only with a much more profound and heavenly significance. How blessed are our fellow brothers who can properly, fully, and completely express the infinitely rich and gloriously anointed and, most of all, beneficial blessings we are called to receive and practice!

Paul puts it like this: “Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ . . . .” Eph. 1:3.

One could be tempted to think that in his enthusiasm, Paul was exaggerating, that he used expressions that were too strong. But do not fall into this temptation, my exceedingly lovable brothers. They definitely are proper, sober words. Rather, it has been our receptivity and our faith that have been too constricted. But now we are correcting that, by God’s grace—obviously! And why not?

Even in the old covenant the blessings were pronounced over them with resounding and obviously true words.

This is our calling in its entirety: 1) Satisfied with grace. 2) Full of the blessing of the Lord. “Dip his foot in oil,” is also fitting. Glory to God! Just as God’s paths drip with abundance (Ps. 65:11), so it is the intention that our paths shall drip with abundance, that all our works and words are well lubricated and anointed with perfumed ointments (our life is a sweet incense before the Lord); no friction, no grating, but on the contrary, our life and our words lubricate and anoint other people’s lives so their life and work will also become a blessing, a delightful aroma for God and men!

Most people have seen and tasted little goodness. They rarely meet anyone who blesses them, even less anyone who constantly blesses them! Oh, how necessary that is! The need is immeasurably great! What people are used to, what they are abundantly supplied with, is demands, dissatisfaction, complaints, disapproval, reproaches, criticism, etc., etc.

Fetch the balm, my blessed brothers and sisters, and pour it out wherever you are! Bless, bless, and bless again! To this you are called! Do not neglect it! It is your heavenly calling! Take care of your work!

The solution is: be mightily blessed in order to bless mightily!
