“I Will Cause Showers to Come Down in Their Season; There Shall Be Showers of Blessing.”

Ezekiel 34:26

Dear friends, the time of the latter day rains is right now. Rejoice and be glad! The voice of the turtledove is heard in our land! It is the year of grace, an acceptable time. The Lord Himself is pouring out showers of blessing in exceeding abundance from His inexhaustible supply—over us, in us, and through us. He connects us to His eternal supply of pure goodness. He who is so unspeakably rich and so unspeakably good fills us and permeates us with His unceasing goodness so that we can rightly fulfill our calling: namely, to shower our fellow men with blessings without end.

To be able to do this, two things are absolutely necessary.

  • 1. We must be constantly filled with unlimited goodness, with all desire for the good.
  • 2. We must have an unlimited, abundant supply to draw from. Otherwise it will fail and falter.
  • But God be praised! All this dwells bodily in Christ and is always available in unlimited quantities. It is precisely His will and intention that we should thus perfectly function as members of His body. Glory to His name!

Love, which He has shed abroad in our hearts by His Holy Spirit, makes us tireless in the good. We run and do not grow weary (in heart and mind). Then this inherent, evil hindrance of not being able to find anyone worthy of a blessing will disappear. It is no longer a question of whether they deserve it; the fact of the matter is that they need to meet goodness and blessing because, as a rule, they have seen little or none of it! On the contrary, they are accustomed to being criticized and harped on every day of their lives, and this usually makes a person hard and unyielding.

Dew, rain, drenching, heart-melting, lubricating with oil and fragrant ointments, showering with blessings, both spiritual and temporal—that is what is needed now!

A revival to blessing is under way; glorious times with much salvation. The watchword is: A thorough and powerful acknowledgment of sin and a radical cleansing of our thoughts, words, and deeds. Then tremendous showers of blessing are unavoidable! God be praised!

We have had a far too miserly understanding of God’s willingness to bless. It is completely wrong and unbiblical to pray for a little more and a little more, instead of praying for unlimited goodness and blessings. God is greatly pleased when we believe in and pray for a great fullness of His glory and blessing in heart and mind, so that we are always able to pour it out richly over our fellow man.

Now we are going to correct this mistake, friends! God likes that very much! To go about blessing is an extremely delightful and fruitful life. Let us begin immediately with what we have; then He will constantly fill us. There is no doubt about it! Our good God be highly praised! Amen.
