Do All in the Name of the Lord Jesus

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Col. 3:17.

We have been baptized into Christ Jesus so that we belong to Him. He is our Lord. This is a choice we have made of our own free will, and we have forsaken everything to be led by Him alone. Doing everything in Jesus’ name is believing that Jesus will sign His name under everything we do or say. We must abstain if we don’t think He will.

There is no salvation in any other name except the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12. There is only perdition outside that name. If you cannot be in Jesus’ name when you buy and sell or raise your children, etc., you will only reap corruption from it. There is no salvation in anything else except in Jesus’ name. Serve the Lord Jesus Christ, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward. Col. 3:24.

When a woman is about to get married, she embroiders her new name on her entire trousseau. “For the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” Rev. 19:8. There will be no bright, fine linen unless it is done in Jesus’ name. It is useless to come to the wedding day with any linen on which Jesus’ name is not embroidered.

“But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God . . . .” Gal. 4:9.

“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.” Matt. 10:32.

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:23.

“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” Rev. 3:5. “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6.

In other words, to be known by God is more than to know God, and in the above-mentioned scriptures we see how we become known by God. It depends on our relationship to the Son. Only the works that are done in Jesus’ name will be made known to the Father. When you keep Jesus’ commandments, you love Him and are loved by the Father. That is His elected bride whom Jesus makes known to the Father.
