The Reformation of All Things

Hebrews 9:10

Is it possible that everything in one’s life can be reformed (restored) to what it should be? Yes, that is precisely what can happen. It is made possible by believing in what Jesus can and will do.

Isaiah says, “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” Isa. 53:1. When everything is restored to the way it should be, it happens according your faith and by the arm of the Lord; and when it does not happen it is because of unbelief.

The law and all its precepts were ordained by God as a temporary measure until the time of restoration. It was and remains God’s firm decision that everything will be restored to the way it should be. For this to happen, our focus must be on this very thing, and on nothing else.

Therefore put off all malice and all guile and all hypocrisy and all envy and all backbiting and everything else that you know is contrary to God’s will, for the time has now come to restore everything to the way it should be. God’s will is that we be presented without spot or wrinkle; holy, pure, and blameless before His face during our time on earth; and then He will fetch us as His Son’s bride. These are God’s clear words to us that we can read in different places in the Scriptures, and it is therefore vital to have this attitude.

Many desire to be good; they realize that it is desirable and good to be good, and that it gives you something that endures and is eternal. That is why they repeatedly try, but more often than not, the result is not good, as it is written, “For many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.” Luke 13:14-18. In other words, they will not succeed just by seeking, but they will succeed with a wholehearted zeal and faith. “You are wearied in the length of your way; yet you did not say, ‘There is no hope.’ You have found the life of your hand; therefore you were not grieved.” Isa. 57:10.

The natural thing for a person to do is find strength in his own arm; he believes in himself. He needs to be radically converted to believe in God and His strength, acknowledging his own inadequacy. All things are possible to him who believes. Pray for this faith! Pray until you receive! Then everything that is out of joint and crooked must go, and everything will gradually assume its proper form.
