We Have to Reap What We Sow
Everyone wants to have a good harvest and harvest good fruits, but the word about reaping what you sow is an eternal law that everyone has to defer to, whether willingly or not.
Our entire life is built on seemingly insignificant, minor events. But each one of them gives us an opportunity to choose between good and evil. All these minor events make up the larger events that occur in life and reveal what has been sown. He who is faithful in little things is also faithful in much. The great things are a harvest that is the result of small things.
When we hear about powerful works, they speak of people who have a humble and observant life behind them, who were careful to be obedient in small things and have sown the good seed. Then, when the appointed time has come, the Lord says, “You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.” Matt. 25:23.
When we read about Peter and John healing the lame person by the gate of the temple and about Paul who performed so many powerful works, it strengthens us in faith. But we need to realize that this was not something that just fell down from heaven by chance. This was a harvest of a glorious and devoted life in God.
Powerful revivals are also often a result of prayer. One or several people have for a long time pleaded with God for revival. “And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” Matt. 6:18. Therefore we should act like a diligent farmer who plows and harrows and sows, and finally manages to receive a reward for his labors. God knows how to reward everyone who has met the first requirement.
