Love Life and See Good Days

1 Peter 3:10

These are words that are generally not used in the church. However, in the world, people tend to use them, and then it essentially denotes living freely and unhindered according to your lusts. But what does Peter mean by this statement? He means that we should prosper exceptionally well in Christ Jesus, doing good with a heart full of peace and joy, so that life becomes delightful and glorious. Then it is almost grievous having to call it a day and go to bed. On the other hand, it is even more joyful to wake up and rise again, namely, to such a good and lovely day with God’s abundant blessings over us.

It is something else than being unhappy, wishing you were dead, and something else than discouragement, anger, bitterness, complaining, and accusation.

Peter says that if you love life and want to see good days you must refrain your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile.

This is a genuine revelation in this scripture, for this word tells us that every soul on earth who does not love life and who does not see good days—who does not genuinely prosper—that same person has not kept his tongue from evil!

If he wants to have a truly glorious and valuable life, all he has to do is put an abrupt end to this evil and fateful habit! This is a very simple recipe for being uncommonly happy.

However, it is not sufficient just to reduce the amount of evil speaking by putting a brake on it. The requirement for this miraculous work to take place is not just moderation, but total abstinence! Then the good and delightful days will also come without interruption! Glory to God!

Therefore there is always ample opportunity to enter into and have a good life in this world! This is perfectly attainable!

Everyone who says that he does not have a good life, that he is not seeing good days, makes it known that he has not completely and without exception kept his tongue from speaking evil.

We do not have to initiate an investigation into this matter. It is sufficient to believe 1 Peter 3:10.
