Fulfilled Prophecies
It is as if the cry, “Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet Him!” is beginning to sound louder and louder from day to day.
The decision for the Jews’ return is imminent, which is a reminder of Jesus’ soon coming. Now we are going to look at some prophecies that have already been fulfilled. Luke 21:20-24. Jesus spoke these words approximately forty years before the event. Jerusalem was besieged in the year 70 A.D., and those who believed did according to what Jesus had said. They fled to the mountains and were saved. We have also seen that the Jews fell by the edge of the sword and were led into captivity among all the nations, and that Jerusalem has been trodden down by the Arabs and the Turks. This was the time of visitation for the Gentiles. The gospel was spread from one country to another. Now we have come to the time that we must make ourselves ready for the rapture, for the time of the Gentiles will have been fulfilled once Jerusalem has been liberated. Palestine was liberated from the yoke of the Turks in the year 1919. Now we are just about to witness the time when it will be liberated from the yoke of the Arabs. One hundred thousand Jews are to move down there, and the battle has begun. Jer. 16:14-17.
Formerly they said, “The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt.” But they are not going to say that any longer. We have seen the fulfillment of this prophecy. The Zionist movement arose to fish the Jews to Israel. That did not succeed very well, and God sent for the hunters. Many of these hunters chased the Jews away from their high positions and their hiding places during the war that just ended [WW II]. At the beginning of the chapter we read precisely what happened to the Jews during the war. Their ashes became fertilizer on German soil. God has opened their graves to bring them to Palestine. Ezek. 37:12. Now they are gathered in camps to be led down there, and God says to the north: Give them up! And to the south: Do not keep them back! He will gather them from the west and bring them from the east. The Jews will be led down as a blind and dumb people. Their eyes have still not been opened to God’s way with them. They are still ungodly. Isa. 43:4-10. This was prophesied several thousand years ago, and today we see it being fulfilled.
Which of the gods of the heathens have made a prophecy so far in advance that has also been fulfilled? Which book outside the Bible contains such prophecies? Let us believe God’s Word! Amos 9:9-11. We have seen that the Jews have been sifted among the nations, and they had to die by the sword. Then God will raise up David’s fallen tabernacle. Isa. 26:19-21. When the ship comes in with Jews bound for Palestine, many Jews will be standing there waiting for them, wondering if any of their relatives have come. What if they ended up in the gas chambers? Look, there is my wife! He thought that she was dead, but this prophecy has been fulfilled: “Your dead shall live . . . .” During these years, the children have grown up so that the parents don’t know them, and the children don’t know their parents. Documents have to prove who they are. Think how they must rejoice when they get to see some of their children again!
Now God’s earthly Israel is entering their chambers, but soon they will shut the doors behind them and then the time of grace for the Gentiles will have passed. Then God will begin to punish the earth. Ezek. 28:25-26. The spiritual Israel will also enter into their chambers. Then we will be caught up in the clouds and meet Jesus. He has become our ark. 1 Thess. 1:10.
If someone asks you if you can read him some prophecies that have been fulfilled and thus prove to him that the Bible is true, you now have some undeniable scriptural evidence. Now they are saying just as it is written, “This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden.” Ezek. 36:35.
When we see all these things happening we know that summer—our redemption—is near, and we lift up our heads. Let us therefore always watch and pray that we may be counted worthy to escape these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man. Luke 21:34-36.
What communion does light have with darkness, and what fellowship is there between an unbeliever and a believer? It is of vital importance that there is a definite separation between us and those who do not believe. We cannot be friends with the world and be entertained together with them. If we do that, we must also share in their punishment.
“I said to the Lord, ‘You are my God; I have nothing good apart from you. I keep myself to the saints in the land and to the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.” Ps. 16:1-3. We must not have any good outside of God; and if we have everything in Him we will keep to the saints who are in the land. Your heart cannot be divided in this matter. There are a few people who keep to the church, but they also have fellowship with their unsaved relatives and friends in the world. There is no definitive separation in their spirit. Such people are half-hearted, and they will stay behind in the great tribulation if they are not quick to repent. May the friends experience a powerful awakening in these days.
