It Will Succeed With the Aid of the Seven Horns and the Seven Eyes

I

“The Root of David has prevailed . . . .” Rev. 5:5-6, ff. This means that Jesus Christ was victorious in the days of His flesh, with the flesh and blood of the offspring of David (Rev. 22:16), with a flesh and blood like ours. Heb. 2:14. This was a fierce battle, followed by a corresponding victory. The ferocity of the battle is clearly evident in Hebrews 5:7-9.

In order to win this tremendous victory, Christ was armed with seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God. See also Isaiah 11:2. Indeed, He needed these eyes in both front and back (Rev. 4:6) in order to carry out the Father’s will to perfection in great as well as in small things.

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Rev. 3:21.

How could a poor man even imagine the possibility of overcoming like that, so that his life would be without fault in every detail?! Rev. 14:5. We get a blessed understanding of it just by appropriating these outstanding words about the Lamb’s seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God. This gives us comfort and hope!

If Christ needed these horns and these eyes, then we need them even more! Seeing that it was with them that He could overcome and did overcome, it is also by them that we can overcome and shall overcome. Glory to God that He will strengthen us and equip us to that extent!!!

We do not doubt that we need all this if it is to succeed for us. But that He also gives it to us, how indescribably great that is!!!

In this way we have a reasonable and well-founded hope of finding ourselves on the throne together with Christ!

Yes, precious fellow brethren, with the help of the seven horns and the seven eyes it will succeed, by God’s grace! With the help of the seven spirits of God!
