God’s Longsuffering

God’s Longsuffering

God’s longsuffering is marvelous. He is longsuffering with the ungodly so they might be saved. God is truly good and exceedingly compassionate and merciful. He does not desire any sinner’s death. He so loved the world that He gave His Son so He might save everybody. Because of all this infinite goodness, people are inclined to be superficial, thinking that things will turn out all right in the end. But they are wrong when they think like that. Within this large scope with which God has embraced the world by giving His Son, He, nevertheless, deals directly and on a personal level with each one individually. What a man sows he shall also reap, and each of us shall give account of himself. Romans 14:12.

It is vital for all of us to be aware of the time of our visitation, to understand our calling, so that the goal which God has in mind for us can be reached before His longsuffering with us comes to an end. The woman Jezebel received time to repent, and the vine which had not borne fruit received more time to prove itself, but Ananias and Sapphira died on the spot; God’s longsuffering with them had come to an end. For there is no grace left for the one who has filled up the measure of his sins by doing despite to God. However, where He notices a sorrow over sin, He is exceedingly compassionate and merciful. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God (Romans 11:22), and let us consider that His longsuffering is for our salvation and only reckon with what it has been able to do in our lives.
