The Springboard for Antichrist

He really does need a springboard, for he will truly jump high: “Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called god or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thess. 2:4.

It takes quite some effort for a poor human wretch to exalt himself so highly. A man who aims that high could certainly use a springboard to boost his jump. I have used such a thing myself in the gym, and I know that you can jump very high on it.

Now we will see how it is be possible for a man to get the idea of exalting himself over everything that is a so-called god and that is worshiped, showing himself that he is God. People do not usually entertain such thoughts. They are satisfied with enjoying life according to their lusts as best as they can. Some people’s interests lie in one direction, other people’s interests lie in another direction, everyone according to his taste. However, if a person wants to devote himself to taking care of all mankind, improving their living conditions, leading them according to all the rules of the art, and completely dedicates himself to doing it, just as people can dedicate themselves to sports (for example), then such a person can, if he is very gifted and at the same time very energetic, make much progress in some respects.

Paul mentions in 1 Corinthians 13 that you can give all your possessions to the poor and your body to be burned without having love in your heart. There are therefore other driving forces besides the divine and noble! For example, an energetic dictator can—if he wants to devote himself to it completely, without Jesus Christ and without love—bring things into order so that people stand still and stare in amazement. He can get rid of one bad practice after another and introduce one good order after another with dictatorial authority.

People admire him. They worship him.

If such a man—a man who has already made such a great leap without a springboard— receives a powerful and good springboard, then you can anticipate the opportunity for Antichrist. As a matter of fact, such a springboard is already at hand. This springboard is the so-called Christianity which simply is not real Christianity, but is considered to be such. What has this “Christianity” been able to accomplish? Take a look at an entire nation. It is just as miserable now as before. Compared to what “this man” has accomplished in a relatively short time, this so-called “Christianity” is as nothing, even worse than nothing.

If Christianity is nothing, then its head and leader, Christ, is nothing. What Christ could not accomplish in approximately 2,000 years, the prospective Antichrist accomplishes in a very short time. This is how Antichrist can take a jump on this enormous springboard of “Christianity” (not Christianity!) and with this leap sit in God’s temple and show himself that he is God.

This is how Christ is abolished and Antichrist is hailed and worshiped in His place. The large masses will inevitably hail the Antichrist, and among them will be thousands upon thousands of so-called Christians. However, the real Christ is now completing His bride, those who really are Christians and are learning from Him. When enthusiasm for Antichrist is at its peak, Christ will come to fetch His mature bride and destroy Antichrist. 2 Thess. 1:10, 12, and 2:8.

However, Antichrist and all his followers, together with all nominal Christians and harlot Christians are making a dreadful mistake. In their unbelief, they stumble at the Word. Because God has given mankind a free will, the greatness and power of Christ is revealed now in the dispensation of grace only to the person who believes and obeys Him, to each one who freely and from the heart gives himself to Him and is faithful to Him.

Later, every knee will have to bow before Him whether they want to or not, witnessing His greatness and power when He passes perfect judgment and puts everyone in his place. But behold, then it will be too late.
