2. No. For the body of the sins of the flesh is the body of the old man. When the body has been put off, the man ceases to exist, for man consists of body, soul, and spirit.

3. It consisted of indwelling, unconscious sin that was the cause of the Deeds of the body. Rom. 7:15, first line. Rom. 7:17; Rom. 8:13. This was left intact despite the old man having been put off, for the old man denotes only my conscious “I” agreeing with my mind in conscious sin.
