Laborers

Laborers

There are few laborers in the kingdom of God. Matt. 9:36-38. However, there are quite a few preachers. 2 Cor. 2:17. The latter are rather quick to go out, while Matthew 9:38 tells us that those who really are laborers have to be driven out. Yet how can God drive out men into the harvest if they do not exist? Unfortunately, most of them cannot even take care of themselves. They are fields that are in dire need of being cultivated, plowed, harvested, harrowed, sown, watered, weeded, looked after, and watched by those who are really laborers. But how much delusion and conceit is there? We notice this continually on all sides. They think they are apostles and prophets, shepherds and teachers, evangelists and spiritual, capable of judging both young and old on the way; all the while they are not even able to judge themselves. One moment they think they are so spiritual that they even see things that are wrong with someone who is truly spiritual, and in the next moment they sit (for example) at home sulking or even thinking of forsaking Christ and the church. This last proves that they are almost earth and far from being a laborer in God’s kingdom. 1 Cor. 3:9. They are babes or carnal and human who are in need of extensive treatment instead of being a laborer who can be driven out to work with others.

Brother Sigurd Bratlie was recently driven out into the work. I wish there would soon be several more! What a rare find they are, and so much is required to be a laborer! I wonder who will be next. I wonder when the time has come for him. Everything happens in the fullness of time! God be praised! His way is perfect!
