Bible Study With Aksel Smith

Christ is all things to me. It is vital to lay hold of this and advance to different life. Norway and Sweden may be at peace with each other, but it is not certain that Norway has Sweden’s peace. This is also a picture of the relationship between God and man. A person may have peace with God, but having God’s peace is something else.

Colossians 1:22: “Blameless in His sight.” Notice: In His sight; but in all probability not in man’s sight. God looks to the heart; He weighs the motives and everything that is behind all our actions. Everything in God’s kingdom—all of its fundamental laws—rests on conditions. If I desire to be freed from impetuosity, I have to live with an unshakable faith in the finished work. He in us—He dwells in us—He is the same One who sits at the Father’s right hand. We advance by faith. I will fall if I doubt. Christ in us, the hope of glory. We are to remain firm even though it storms around us. God and Christ are authorities. By always being together with Them, we will be firm and secure in the Lord. In this way we will be strengthened by His mighty power and receive the mind that is in Christ. Are we to work ourselves up to this? No! Only believe! Receive by faith. God’s entire understanding of life is revealed to us in the Scriptures through faith. It is revealed to babes.

Most people want to be something. They want to have a little bit of power for their own honor; they want to be important in one way or another. In Isaiah 40:29 it is written, “He gives power to the weak and to those who have no might He increases strength.” Those who know nothing will know. 1 Cor. 4:9-13. There is a beautiful inner being behind a seemingly lowly outward appearance. Satan can often have an outwardly shiny and beautiful appearance, yet he is horrible on the inside. When God’s Word is revealed to us, we will see Christ. Faith is the way to the Word being revealed. We must go this way; then God will help us. Amen!
