Be! Be! Be!
Be fervent in spirit! Be firm and immovable! Always be rich in the works of the Lord! Be a doer of the Word! Be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath! Be bold and strong! Be ready in season and out of season! Even: Be perfect!!!
Just one single word, just one “Be!” Is it that easy? Can God and His servants accomplish such great things by just saying one word, one single “Be”??? Not generally, but when you have come into a certain state, a certain position, a certain situation, a certain relationship, then you need only one “Be” in order to do God’s will. Then God’s will can be done on earth as it is in heaven (“The Lord’s Prayer”). Only one word and it is done.
A man who stands on top of an empty barrel situated on top of a high pillar cannot possibly follow a “be immovable” exhortation. His position makes it impossible. This also applies to everyone in particular who has not separated himself from everything that he knows to be impure. This impurity is the volcano on which he can never be immovable; it is that empty barrel on top of that pillar on which he can never steady himself.
If you have forsaken all your possessions, you have separated yourself from everything and everyone and have gone out from them. If you have been obedient to the Word to the extent that you know it, if your name or person is not in a wrong relationship so that you (as Paul says) “know nothing against myself,” if you are free and happy in this way, then you are so agile and unrestricted that you can be moved by a “Be!” just like a rubber ball is moved at the slightest touch.
May it truly succeed for the many to realize this connection with their God. Amen.
