Judgement—Condemnation
Condemnation is the rejection of the person; it is perdition. On the other hand, judgment is only the rejection of sin, which so easily ensnares a person, precisely so that the person shall not be rejected and condemned. Condemnation is therefore declining help, whereas judgment is an offer of help. Therefore David also says, “And let Your judgments help me.” Ps. 119:175. And Paul says, “But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.” 1 Cor. 11:32. “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus . . . .” Rom. 8:1. However, there are very many judgments for all those who are in Him! Therefore Peter can also say, “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God . . . with us . . . .” 1 Pet. 4:17. Likewise, the epistle to the Hebrews does not just say that we have come to the general assembly, to the Mediator, and to the blood of sprinkling, but also to the Judge. Heb. 12:22-24. How much judgment is there within us and among us? Just as much as there is light, the light of life. “And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world . . . .” John 3:19. Each new light as regards life is a new judgment. To hate judgment is to hate the light. To exclude judgment is to exclude light. Saying that you are never judged is saying that you never receive new light. Judgment now during the time of grace is for the salvation of everyone who agrees with the judgment, and this is the very opposite of condemnation!!!
Who is condemned? 1) Those who have heard the gospel and do not want to accept it. 2) Those who believe it, but will not confess Jesus Christ before people. 3) Those who have received it and confess their faith, but do not forgive all their fellow men from their heart. 4) Those who, by blaspheming the Holy Spirit, have become totally hardened.
