There Is a Future and Hope for the God-Fearing

Faithful souls have a bright future. Even after they die, their work will live on in succeeding generations. The work of faithless souls perishes. Those who quietly, unobtrusively strive to live a God-fearing life are preparing themselves for the kingdom that is not of this world. “There is no God in heaven or on earth like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.” 2 Chron. 6:14. Notice the expression, “with all their hearts.” God keeps His covenant. He never fails. If we are faithless, He remains faithful. He is a faithful pillar of support and a sure defense for us in all our trials. “Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.” Ps. 128:1-2. Everything goes according to foreordained laws. Just as everything in this world is governed by the laws of nature, so everything in the spiritual world is governed by the laws of the Spirit. To get as much as possible out of our time here on earth, we must devote our life to the laws of the kingdom of heaven. Blessed is the man who has his delight “in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Ps. 1:2-3. We have seen countless examples that prove this is true. Why not choose the very best? Why not bring your life into harmony with the laws of the Spirit? Don’t compare yourself with people who are worse than you, but look to the very best examples you have. “Evil company corrupts good habits.” Press forward on the narrow way. There is a crown that you can lay hold of, exactly as God has created you—just as you are. You have everything you need to obtain the crown. Let no one take your crown! If others have to do what you should have done, they take your crown. Your negligence will cost you your battle prize. So don’t give up! Find the works that God has prepared for you, so that you can enter into His rest. Those who work according to God’s directions and according to the laws of the Spirit will certainly reach the goal and enter His rest. This is the reason that these people are so blessed—they who meditate on God’s law so they can battle lawfully, work righteously and hear properly.
