The Anointing
“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” 1 John 2:20.
The anointing is made up of various elements. It consists of Spirit, water and blood; these are the witness of God. 1 John 5:7-8. It also contains the sufferings of Christ, hope, faith, humility and knowledge. The anointing knows all things; it is the wisdom of God. He who abides in the anointing does not abandon himself to unbridled rejoicing over something he has heard, since he knows that in the next moment he may hear just the opposite. There is a deep, quiet peace in the anointing. There is love mixed with compassion and pain.
“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” 1 John 2:27.
Hearing a sermon that agrees with the anointing within you makes you rejoice. However, if what you hear brings you pain, it is because the anointing cannot accept what has been said.
He who loves his brother abides in the anointing and in the light, but he who hates his brother is in darkness.
