April 1914

The Cross and the Curse are inseparable. To say, my old man has been crucified with Him, I have been crucified with Christ means this: I have seen that my old nature, my self, deserves the curse: that there is no way of getting rid of it but by death. I voluntarily give it to the death . . . I give my old man, my flesh, with its will and work, as a sinful accursed thing, to the Cross. Gal. 3:13.

I begin to understand that the one thing I need to do is to look upon the flesh as God does, accept the death warrant the Cross brings, and to look upon it as an accursed thing.
