Laws of Life

Laws of Life

Everything in life goes according to laws—God’s laws. Blessed is the man whose delight is in the laws of the Lord and who therefore meditates on them.

The Law of Moses was revealed to the people of Israel as a shadow of things that are real and eternal. In Jesus Christ the laws of the Spirit of life—reality itself—are revealed to us by faith and continue to be revealed through obedience. This dispensation of grace, of righteousness, and of life is a mystery hidden to most people.

Nevertheless, God’s Word is not a joke, neither is it a picture book; it is unshakably firm in all its parts and cannot be invalidated. “He who seeks, will find.” To the same degree that he seeks, he will also find. It is written about Israel that they did not attain to the law of righteousness (life) because they sought it by works of the law and not by faith. Rom. 9:30-33.

They truly sought to attain to the laws of life, but they did not attain to them because they stumbled at that stone of stumbling.

There are many people in our days who have the knowledge that they must not seek through works, and that is good! Unfortunately, it is of no help to most of them. Or of what help is it if I know that a certain way does not lead to the goal and therefore do not walk on it if I, at the same time, do not find the way that leads to the goal and walk on it!?

In these days most people from among those who call themselves believers do not seek to find the laws of life in order to walk in them; they simply relax and are glad that Jesus has consecrated a way and that no one is cast out because of partiality when they come to Him. However, they are not concerned with walking on a way in Christ’s steps, considering the word that speaks about it as only a dream.

How long will people sleep? How long will the spirit of unbelief blind people? Who will stand in the gap? Who will sacrifice so that healing and cleansing can come?

A way and a door are not the same thing! A way and a place (for example, a playground) are not the same thing either!

Think about it! Stand still and consider the matter seriously!

There is truly a way that Jesus Christ consecrated through His own flesh by being tempted in all points, sin being condemned in that flesh. This is the way. So that this could occur in us to a certain degree according to the grace that God gives, we can come to Him as we are, full of sin and Satan’s power. We will not be cast out; on the contrary, He forgives us our transgressions and does not impute them to us; we are cleansed by His blood from all our sins if we acknowledge, confess, and believe.

In other words, we can come freely to Him as we are, without partiality, because we have all sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. And if we seek incorruption by believing and keeping His Word, we will discover that our inner man is corrupted, incapable of pleasing God. Especially by acknowledging this, by forsaking and judging ourselves thoroughly and by faith reckoning ourselves crucified with Christ, we will be born by the Spirit through death and thus become a part of the body of Christ where this way that has been mentioned is hidden, where we follow Christ, and where we by the same eternal Spirit are formed into the image of Christ in His death. This is a great mystery: Christ manifested in flesh, and we in Him! We are members of His body. I speak of Christ and the church, and these two are to be one!

It is not sufficient to acknowledge that Jesus is the way; we must trust the way and by faith forsake everything, walking on it with our face turned toward the Savior who arose from the dead, who according to the flesh is descended from David, of the tribe of Judah.

Therefore Jesus also said to those who believed in Him: “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.” John 8:30-32.

We believe, therefore we speak. We believe, therefore we walk.
