Unity
“The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.” Matt. 13:33. She did not say, “Come, let us have some alliance meetings so we can become one.” She simply placed the leaven in the meal, and all the meal was leavened. This parable can teach us about the kingdom of heaven and about the way to become one in the kingdom of heaven.
The leaven is the Word of God. “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” John 17:20-22 [Emphasis added]. The Word of God makes us one, and the glory makes us one. When we come to such unity, the world will believe that the Father has sent His son. Through alliances we can attain an outward unity, a sort of glue that can hold people together for a while, but the first rainstorm the Lord sends dissolves the glue, and they separate again because it was a work of man.
From now on, let us have “leaven meetings” rather than “alliance meetings.” That will bring success.
