My Soul Breaks With Longing for Your Judgments at All Times

Ps. 119:20

How delightful God’s commandments are, how lovely are His judgments! They train the children of God for eternal life, and they prove to be true and faithful from generation to generation. Those who devote themselves to God’s judgments and love His commandments receive wisdom from God. He binds their adversaries and causes their enemies to fear. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and it will also prove to be the fulfillment of wisdom.

The desire to be instructed is the first step on the way to wisdom. On that way God’s judgments are pure light that help those who sit in darkness so that they can find their way out of the difficulties—difficulties under which they would otherwise crumble. God’s judgments are full of peace. Once you taste the sweetness of His commandments, your soul will break with longing that you may be allowed to continue to press on toward perfection.

The laws of God gave understanding to men of old, and they became men of renown in spite of the fact that their contemporaries despised them Even those who are of the same mind as the enemies of these great men highly exalt them, although they do not understand what has caused them to become so great.

The law of the Spirit—the eternal commandment—makes our human spirit alive and forms us into eternal beings, together with those other “spirits of just men made perfect.” Heb. 12:23.

The result of Christ’s obedience to God’s will was that all the wisdom of God dwelt in Him bodily. That is why He is called “Christ, the Wisdom of God.” He has become the way to the fountain of wisdom, a way that is open for every person who longs for His judgments. His judgments are found in lowly places, among the lowly, so that no one can say that they were too difficult to find. You can find the will of God and the way to wisdom by turning away from things that are highly esteemed, because things that seem great in this world have been made great by Satan. A deeper foundation has been laid beneath the greatness of this world. One day, everything that is exalted will be judged on this foundation. It will be tested by the light of God before Him who has eyes that burn like fire. Everything that is not in harmony with God’s laws will be broken down and burned with fire.

Blessed are all those who have already learned to love His light and His will, and who, by godly fear, devote themselves to keeping His commandments. Such a soul will abide, as an eternal being, together with God’s law in judgment and will see the fall and destruction of their enemies.
