Foreword
Though Johan Oscar Smith spent most of his working life in the Norwegian Navy, God was his only interest. Thus he was able help many people come to a full salvation. There was constant revival on board the ships on which he sailed. He died in 1943, but his writings have been an ever increasing help to those who are seriously seeking God. His books, articles, and letters are being translated into many languages and spread to many countries throughout the world.
The Epistle to the Ephesians is a special, precious letter. Paul writes about that great mystery, the body of Christ, and about our inner man. Those who read Brother Smith’s book should not expect entertainment for their soul; rather, they should think in terms of being built up in their inner man, in order to grow up to the head, who is Christ. In 2 Corinthians 4:6-18 we see that this was what was on Paul’s heart. Unless we, too, are interested in this, we will not be able to understand Paul’s letters—nor, for that matter, will we be able to understand what Johan O. Smith writes.
As one who has received inestimable profit from this book, I recommend it to all the upright of heart; and I can testify that the more you read it, the more his writings will become living for you!
