518. Pentecost Conference 1926
The Pentecost conference is now over, and I believe it was a blessing for all of us. I would estimate there were about the same number of people at this conference as there were at the Easter conference.
We all have a strong feeling that it is vital to meet together, and it is the evidence of our love when people are drawn together year after year for conferences. It was the same when ancient Israel had their conferences, when they all went up together to Jerusalem for their great festivals. When love grows cold, people lose their desire to gather together. God Himself had ordained their festivals, and the more godliness there was among the people, the more joy they found in these conferences. It is just the same today. Where Christians are lukewarm and cold, there is very little interest in meeting together. You who did not come to the conference and who did not have any particular good reason for that, remember to come next time even if you feel cold and disinterested. You can be warmed up again.
