508. Easter Conference 1940
The Easter Conference in Drammen was beneficial in many ways, both in terms of chastisement and comfort. The brothers spoke about calling yourself a believer but denying God with your works, and about having received the Spirit but not living and walking in it.
The Levitical priesthood and the order of Melchizedek—that is, the shadow and reality—were explained clearly and plainly.
Just to see the brothers is a blessing. You sense the fellowship in the Spirit and the inspiration which flows out from it.
About four hundred people from the surrounding cities and rural areas were gathered in the gymnasium. There were many good testimonies which witness of progress and zeal in godly fear. You would have thought that the strong words would have chased the young people away. But no, on the contrary, the young people stream to the conferences and love to be there. It is more difficult for older people. They are more sensitive—that is, unless they have been saved right from their youth.
At the moment we have five young brothers out preaching God’s Word. They were all present and spoke God’s Word. Brother Aslaksen and many other older brothers also spoke. These are brothers who have steadfastly performed a blessed ministry as overseers in the different places where God has placed them.
