446. Pentecost Conference 1931
We want to thank the friends in Copenhagen and Mehavn heartily for their telegrams.
It was blessed to see the friends again. God blessed us in an amazing way at this time, as He always does. It seems that God is ordaining and commanding the blessing to be present where brothers dwell together.
Four trucks packed with people came from Oslo, one from Hokksund in Eiker, and one from Sandefjord. Cars also came from Kristiansand and from several other places. So there were a lot of cars waiting outside the meeting hall at the time of departure, and there were many hearty farewell handshakes between friends that love one another but are separated by distance.
Everyone was free to speak, and we heard many heartfelt testimonies. Brother Aslaksen asked for testimonies about what we were thankful for, and brother Bekkevold encouraged the friends to testify in quick succession. All this caught on, and the afternoon meeting on Pentecost Day was an amazing time with many testimonies. People wept and testified of God’s wonderful works and leading. The inexhaustible chapter of Romans 7 gave us many rich blessings. It is certainly a well-hidden gold mine, but I believe that God has allowed us to dig out several gold nuggets already.
The Word of the cross nails us to the cross and makes us one flesh with Christ. This is the gathering place for everyone’s flesh, and that unites us. When the flesh is in that place, a tremendous liberty in the spirit reigns. This is the secret to the unity and strength among us, and it is the reason forces from without are not able to overcome us. Everything, both flesh and spirit, was united in Him who overcame the world.
May God’s grace continue to give us power to remain in this process of salvation and progress in this increasing and forward-moving faith.
