274. Finally

“All of you be of one mind!” What is there to disagree about anyway? The desire to disagree is in our members, in the flesh, which was crucified with Him. The one mind is in Christ, in the power of His resurrection and in His faith, and there we can eternally be of one mind. The children of light have renounced the works of darkness, so when everything is in the light, we have nothing to fight about.

“Having compassion for one another.” We share the same nature as our brothers, which is why we can so easily identify with their state. This is why we can show them understanding, and that will be a comfort and consolation to them.

“Love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous.” Love makes the evil lose its power and begets a reciprocal love. If you want to be loved by the brothers, then you yourself must love them. Brotherly love leads us away from love of the world, which is egotism. “He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.” 1 John 2:10. Where love rules, offenses disappear as does all backbiting and negative talk. Mercy prevails, and humility drives out the last remnant of evil.

To belong to a brotherhood where there is such fellowship is so good! All membership registration becomes superfluous, as it would only create distrust. This living fellowship is formed in love, unity, compassion, brotherly love, mercy, and humility. All rules and regulations disappear in this serving spirit where the one who serves the most is the greatest. Thus the spirit that wants to lord it over the others is driven out, covetousness dries up, and generosity and responsibility move into the house. Appointing priests is unnecessary because we are all priests. Begging also disappears because we need so little and the others need more. In this way things are done inexpensively and effectively as all the demands in the flesh are crucified. In these hard times, this is the kind of work we need. Away with all vanity; then we will no longer regard each other according to the flesh, and respect of persons will disappear. Godliness with contentment is great gain, and its strength is so great that the spirit of communism must bow in the dust before it. If you want to join us in this, start keeping the commandments. No other form of registration is required. Some people have tried to “register” in this glorious fellowship, but they were not able to because of their flesh. “Registration” takes place when your flesh is crucified. This is the price for spiritual fellowship, and if you are willing to pay that price, you are “registered.” Many will attempt to enter the kingdom of God but will not be able. Rather give up your knowledge and lay hold of the light that the Father and the Son give to all those who have His commandments and keep them. Here Bible schools become superfluous and begging for money for such schools disappears. Instead the knowledge of God fills God’s priests with such exceeding abundance that finally the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of God.
