128. The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

“He who keeps understanding will find good.” Prov. 19:8. Consider what it means to keep understanding. It is the same as walking in the light while we have the light, so that we can be children of the light. Joseph’s feet were afflicted with fetters; he was laid in irons, until the time that the Word of the Lord came to pass and proved his innocence. Psalm 105:19. No one receives wisdom without first being tested—and without being faithful in the testing. The Spirit of wisdom will lead you through fire and water, until He can entrust Himself to you and reveal His mysteries to you. Later He will walk with you on a straight way. The Spirit of wisdom always comes with chastisement, which is the reason He is not received. He cannot flatter. He insists on being the lord and leader, and rightly so. If we want to possess the Spirit of wisdom, we must bow our necks under His fetters. Let us allow Him to lead our soul into irons, until the word of the Lord is fulfilled and sets us free. Wisdom’s desire is toward the sons of man. Without cost, she will teach us how to reign. Fools despise wisdom and chastening, and as a result, they remain in their folly. It is possible to incline your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding. Prov. 2:2. It is totally up to us.

I am convinced that most of the friends live as it is written in Ephesians, Chapter 1. They have heard and accepted the word of truth; they have faith; they are sealed with the Holy Spirit; they have love for all the saints. However, one thing is lacking: the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. What can be done about this? Pray to God for this Spirit. Apply your heart to discernment; keep understanding; hold on to the light and walk in it. Hold fast to chastisement, and do not let it go, because it contains wisdom. The shell is hard, but the kernel is sweet. See and hear; choose and refuse. Get a love for wisdom, for in so doing, you will only be returning her love anyway. Wisdom loves us while she chastens us. If it were not so, she would not chastise us; but she chastens with hope. The Spirit of wisdom is found on the doorstep of your house, but proud eyes cannot see her—they stumble over her. She is in the cellar, in the loft, and on the streets. She speaks within you, convincing and convicting you of everything that is right. Even an ungodly person has no excuse, for it is obvious that he knows the right thing to do when it is to his advantage. How much more, then, should believers hear and understand. But unbelief hinders, and what is unbelief but disregard for the chastening in order to get off as lightly as possible according to the flesh. Let all of us seek and find this Spirit of wisdom and revelation, this Teacher of righteousness. He makes us alive, just as she herself is alive.
